To capture a portrait of your child or your family is a privilege for me. To do this, I believe, two things are required: stillness and a connection with who you are...not with what you look like. This connection happens in moments. It is fleeting. But a fleeting moment is long enough for the shutter.

It is my hope to transform the your family connection and your emotions into something that will be remembered for a very long time.

YOUR SESSION

Each portrait session is bespoke and will be customised according to you and your family.

Because I prefer to work with natural light, outdoor shoots are scheduled early and late in the day when the light is at it's softest and most flattering. Of course, if your children are young, we will always prioritise and accommodate their schedule to capture them at their best. Due to the capriciousness of the British weather, we will book two dates for any outdoor sessions.  I can recommend locations in and around the Great Park, or we can choose a location that is significant to you. Alternatively, we can book a session in your home.

(Note: during COVID, I am only booking outdoor sessions and maintain social distancing throughout the shoot.)

Most full portrait sessions last between 1-2 hours. Mini-sessions can be booked in 30 minute slots.

Before the session, in a phone consultation, we will plan and style your shoot. 2-3 weeks after our session we will meet for your viewing. (During COVID, all viewings are conducted online via Zoom.)

The number of portraits offered for viewing varies depending on your objectives. Most full family sessions produce 20-30 high resolution images.

Once you select the portraits that you will purchase, they will be meticulously hand-finished. I offer a variety of products - from high-resolution digital negatives to high quality archival frames, canvases and albums.

To inquire about availability, please contact me. Only a select number of commissions are accepted each year. Please book early to avoid disappointment.  

INVESTMENT

A non-refundable sitting fee is taken at time of booking to reserve your session date. A full portrait session fee is £200 on weekdays and £250 on weekends. Mini-session fees are less and priced according to your need. If you session is postponed due to inclement weather or child illness, the sitting fee is transferrable.

The sitting fee covers the time and talent of the photographer during the session. All frames, canvases, albums, prints and digital negatives are priced separately and available for purchase during the viewing. Most clients spend between £1000-£3000 on portraits produced in full sessions.

If you are working to a budget, please contact me to discuss your needs. Mini sessions can be designed with targeted portrait capture to meet your needs and your budget. This is especially useful if you are looking to update to an existing collection of portraits, or would only like 1-2 portraits from your session. Please contact Denise for more detailed information.
